History of the company Benz & Hilgers GmbH
1912
Designer Johannes Benz and engineer Wilhelm Hilgers founded in Düsseldorf their company Benz & Hilgers
1913
The first butter and margarine filling and wrapping machine was delivered
1923
The company site at Münsterstrasse/Düsseldorf was extended
1944
Company site and building were almost completely destroyed
1948
The company?s activities were resumed
1962
The family owned company was sold to Rheinmetall AG
1982
Benz & Hilgers GmbH were incorporated into the Jagenberg group
1993
The activities of the Benz & Hilgers GmbH and the GASTI Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH - up to this date located in Schwäbisch Hall and also belonging to the Jagenberg group - were concentrated in Neuss, both BENHIL and GASTI machines from this date on being manufactured in Neuss.
1998
The BENHIL-GASTI Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH was formed by merging of the Benz & Hilgers GmbH with the GASTI Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH.
2000
Jagenberg AG sells BENHIL-GASTI to the IWKA AG where it is integrated into the Pacunion (packaging technology division).
2001
BENHIL-GASTI were separated, the activities to be continued under the two companies Benz & Hilgers GmbH and GASTI Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH. GASTI machines are once again manufactured in Schwäbisch Hall.
2005
All business activities of the ECOPACK Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH were taken over by Benz & Hilgers GmbH, the ECOPACK machines from now on being one further range within the BENHIL packaging machinery program.
2007
IWKA AG sells their packaging division to Odewald & Compagnie – an investment company in Berlin.
