Folding Styles

Bottom fold

The technology of filling the product into a preformed, top open wrapper bag allows packaging of various, from hard to very soft consistencies. This folding principle offers best protection for the product without need to glue the fold. Besides the standard rectangular sizes, it is suitable for packaging big and special sizes like rolls, pats, oval packets, and also for miniportions.

Lengthside fold

Compared with bottom fold, this folding principle saves, depending on the packet dimensions, up to 25% packaging material. It does not offer, however, the same degree of product protection. For technical reasons, a minimum packet height of approx. 30 mm is necessary for this style of fold.

End fold

This typical folding principle of our ECOPACK machine range is particularly suitable for harder product consistencies. Depending on the specific packet size the end fold principle provides up to 30% material savings when compared with the bottom fold style. ECOPACK machines also allow utilization of wrapping materials with high dead fold such as plastic wrappers which can be closed by hotmelt application.
